# create-filing-session

Creates a new filing session for a filer.

This command returns a session token that can be passed to an embedded
Element in the browser. The Element uses the token to make subsequent calls to
Rhetoric directly.

## Flags

  The ID of the filer operating the filing session.

      The time the session was created, in RFC 3339 format.

      The ID of the filer operating the session.

    <ResponseField name="status" type="string">
      The status of the session. One of `active`, `submitted`, or `expired`.
    </ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="session_token" type="string">
  Bearer token used to authenticate session requests. The Element component
  embedded in the browser uses this to drive the session. This token is only
  returned once and cannot be recovered, so keep it somewhere safe.
